Our Philosophy
At Bridge Football Academy we recognise the importance of developing the technical ability of our players. Many of our staff have either worked within professional academies or are still employed in these settings. Therefore they are aware of what is required to create and develop elite young players and the framework and support which needs to be in place to allow this development to happen. We work alongside grassroots football clubs, and do not wish to affect or interfere with our players’ local football in any way. It is essential players enjoy their football for their respective grassroots teams and use this as a platform to showcase the technical work they do with us.
This philosophy will be delivered using technical and conditioned small sided games which are designed to improve the technical skills of all players regardless of position. This style of coaching is currently used at professional clubs and has been tailored by our Director of Coaching to meet the needs of players looking to progress into professional academies.
Accepting a place within the Academy means players are required to train weekly at one of our sites at either Bournside School, Quedgeley or Archway School. Players will also be offered opportunities to play with the Academy in matches against a variety of professional clubs and representative sides. We envisage that each age group will play several games throughout the season though these will not conflict with grassroots footballing provision as we will attempt to play these fixtures on weeknights.
